Information on camping and permanent accommodations along the canoe tour
Tips on camping and accommodation options for canoeing
Along many canoe routes in the Mecklenburg Lake District, there are beautiful campsites right on the water at short intervals. Most sites have modern sanitary facilities, small shops with essentials, fresh bread rolls, etc. For canoeists and kayakers, there are usually special tent areas with free choice of pitch and affordable package deals. In addition to campsites, there are also numerous permanent accommodation options along the routes.
Camping in nature
Camping outside of designated campsites is only permitted in designated bivouac areas. This rule is strictly enforced, particularly in national parks, because the flora and fauna there enjoy special protection.
Permanent accommodations
It is also possible to take a canoe trip and stay partly or entirely in permanent accommodations. These accommodations are located directly on or near the water. Advance booking is particularly recommended during peak season.
